From our Thrupp Canal Centre you can enjoy a totally relaxing day in the country, or embark on a fantastic must-do tour of Oxford by water. Cruise into and around Oxford on both the royal River Thames and the Oxford Canal, sightseeing Port Meadow and the Dreaming Spires, the famous Folly Bridge and adjacent Christchurch meadow, cruising through bohemian Jericho, pas the ruins of Godstow Priory where the ghost of Rasamund the Fair still lingers.... Alternatively, why not moor at a waterside pub and take in the many familiar sights of the waterways that played such an important part in the 'Inspector Morse' TV series. Whichever route you choose, each boat is fully licensed for all the waterways, so there are no hidden extras.

Travel South: The Oxford Ring
This is one of Britain's smallest circular cruising 'rings' - and a must for canal enthusiasts and sightseers alike. Head south from Thrupp toward Oxford along the canal as far as the secretive Dukes Cut, cleverly allowing access to the adjacent River Thames, for the most stunning views of Oxford's skyline across Port Meadow. Glide serenely downstream into central Oxford - taking in the rowing eights and famous college barges and boathouses. Moor at Folly Bridge for a glimpse of the bustle of the city, but don't forget to allow enough time for your return journey either back up the river or) more interestingly) along the Oxford canal through Jericho and St Ebbes.

Travel North: The Cherwell Valley
Head north from the pictureque canal hamlet of Thrupp along the rural Oxford Canal encountering kingfishers, woodpeckers amid this beautiful wooded valley. Travel as far north as Kirtlington and discover the fossil-laden former quarry, providing an excellent mooring from which to visit this classic Oxfordshire village.
