There are countless ways to enjoy Oxford and Oxfordshire. We'll suggest so many ideas to inspire that you'll wish you could stay longer......or arrange to come back......
Besides Oxford's free museums, colleges, towers, 'dreaming spires', theatres, pubs, restaurants and nightlife, there's a whole new world to explore - Oxfordshire - just a short distance away. We suggest you:
- Meander slowly along quiet roads, through picturesque villages of Cotswold stone, thatch, brick or flint - and look out for the pub!
- Indulge in retail therapy at Bicester Village or potter round the small market towns
- Explore the network of public footpaths and bridleways
- Check out the local visitor attractions
- Try cycling, maybe using a Sustrans route, or along flower-fringed quiet roads
- Take a tour to the Cotswolds, Bath, Blenheim Palace, Stonehenge or Warwick Castle. Or take to the water in a punt, steamer or narrow boat to discover the river ways and canal
- Relax with a spa treatment in a luxury hotel or country club
- Enjoy a cultural experience - a play, musical, concert, recital, lecture - or gig
- Have some Family Fun starting at the Oxford Ice Rink or an open air pool, or paintballing, karting or wakeboarding
If that's all a bit daunting just flop down outside a pub, drink in hand, and watch the world go by. It will. Everyone comes to Oxfordshire.
