Oxford University at St Catherine's CollegeOxford University at St Catherine's College

Founded in 1931 to help 'unattached' or 'non-collegiate' students to gain access to the University, St Catherine's College (known as 'St Catz' ) opened on its present site in Holywell Great Meadow, in 1964. The college was completely designed by the Danish architect, Arne Jacobsen, from its quadrangles to its large diniing hall, from its furniture to its cutlery. Even the bike shed is Listed!
The college has a tranquil location, between 2 arms of the river Cherwell and near to the University Parks. Look for new buildings, added as the college grew, all designed to be compatible with Jacobsen's architectural vision.
