In 2012 we are celebrating what Oxford and Oxfordshire do best - very often the best in all of Britain. There's so much to see and do that's the first, most extraordinary - or even the only one of their kind.
We've focused on just four areas where Oxford and Oxfordshire excel - gardens, heritage, waterways , food and shopping. From classical landscaped gardens like Rousham to stately homes such as Blenheim Palace; from market towns and farmers' markets to Bicester Village, home to over 130 designer boutiques; from Britain's most famous River Thames to the winding Oxford Canal; from world-class museums to a vibrant artistic and creative scene - Oxford and Oxfordshire have it all. With a goodly sprinkling of picturesque pubs, classy eateries and accommodation of all descriptions, vintages and decors - including a(former) prison, there's enough to keep you and the family entertained for a week - or two. And it's so easy to get to by rail, car, bus, cycle or on foot.
We'll be updating these pages with events, offers and news as the year unfolds - to please check back regularly. And sign up to our enewsletter if you'd like to be first 'in the know'.
There's never been a better time to visit - especially with the current exchange rates if you live overseas.
